Review of SRO Corsair H115i Platinum: Flagship RGB model

Well, in general, I once again crawled home tired to zero, tried to screw the radiator to the front of the case, I have an Xiaomi screwdriver it did not work, I uncovered the screwdriver and on the second screw... the nozzle flew a little.

And can you recall that the Corsair's hydrocephalus was related to a 6-terabyte injury related to the ASUS RTX 2070 test footage? Yes, you remember correctly. Then I was also tired like a dog. Because, guys, fatigue is not a one-time event in life. Unfortunately. When you get tired, you don't understand. And I did not have a cooler, except for dropsy.

And these are two lessons for you. The first - if you are tired, try to rest a little, then get down to business. And the second - when assembling a PC screwdriver is a danger. Screwdriver, even electro - norms, to pierce with it a radiator it will not turn out. But the screwdriver is a last resort.

But now - about the SRO itself. And I'll start with the fact that I had a review of the Corsair iCUE H115i RGB PRO XT. Also a greasy thing, also 280 mm, but without RGB on the turntables. Its cost was, if anything, about 5,000 hryvnias. Platinum will cost 6,000+, as I wrote earlier.

Platinum corrects this omission. Turntables are luxurious. And, by the way, the pump has more opportunities for RGB patterns. BUT! Here's the question. And then 280 mm, and then 280 mm. Are any of them more productive? Thanks to the Corsair forum and the user under the nickname c-attack, the issue is completely removed.

The plus-minus price is the same, if anything, Platinum is a bit more expensive. BUT! H115i Pro is a model created in partnership with Asetek, one of the leading OEMs for dropsy.

The H115i Pro has three fixed pump speeds, 1100, 2160 and 2850 rpm, an ML140 turntable with a maximum speed of 1100 RPM. H115i Platinum is made in partnership with CoolIT, it has much faster turntables - speeds up to 2000 rpm, but the pump speed is only two. 2400 and 2900.

Plus - much more abundant RGB-backlight and the ability to control it WITHOUT synchronization with the motherboard via RGB-connector. And now - the main news. I didn't just talk about the H115i Pro, not the H115i Pro XT. Because the XT is ALSO MADE by CoolIT, at least a pump.

Information from the same forum. And it turns out that H115i Pro XT is the essence of H115i Platinum, but without RGB. The pump modes are the same, everything else is the same. At the same time, both Asetek and CoolIT have their advantages and disadvantages. For example, pre-applied heat paste on the heel, uh, a good phrase, in the case of CoolIT allows you to completely cover the processor on the X99 platform, unlike the competitor.

But Asetek has less pump speed - and if maximum silence is important, it's your choice. But finding an old woman will be problematic, the model has been replaced by Pro XT.

Testing

The performance of dropsy, however, is similar. In a sense, in Pro XT and Platinum. Or rather - the level of the best turrets like the Noctua NH-D15, and, interestingly, 360-mm dropsy. That is, let's say the Core i9-9900K at 5.2 GHz on all cores will work on all tests, including Prime95, and not overheat.

My finally overclocked to 4.2 GHz at 1.35 AMD Ryzen 5 3600X for the cooler, of course, was not a problem, and I rested solely on the capabilities of silicon. Peak 77 degrees Celsius at room 26 - in general with a margin.

However, all the problems of H115 Pro XT apply to Platinum. Namely - backlight synchronization works only inside the Corsair ecosystem and with ASUS AuraSync. Everyone else is in flight. AND! And the mounting for different sockets on the pump is very tight, the grooves are too narrow.

And that's all. So the cooling system is a furnace.
